
Annemijn was born in Cologne, Germany in 2000, and moved to her home country of the Netherlands in 2013. She obtained her B.Sc. in Chemistry with a minor in Informatics from Utrecht University in 2022. During her master’s program, she wrote her master thesis in the Broere group on the design and synthesis of 3-dimensional multinuclear complexes for catalysis. Subsequently, she completed a 6-month research internship at Bayer in Berlin, Germany, where she became interested in organic electrosynthesis. This led to her joining the Beil Lab as a PhD student after obtaining her M.Sc. degree. In her free time, Annemijn enjoys reading, crocheting, bouldering and travelling.
